workout, fitness equipmentAt the moment, my apartment complex has a gym so I haven’t needed to buy an fitness equipment but I do have a few different dumbbells to workout with. Over the years they have traveled with me through college, from place to place and now are sitting quietly in my closet. Over Thanksgiving weekend, I lent my MP3 player to a roommate who was traveling to the east coast. His was broken so I wasn’t about to make him sit through the long flight with no tunes. That being said, I decided then and there I wouldn’t be using the nearby fitness equipment until he returned because I can’t workout without music. It is one of my pet peeves.

On one of those lazy days after Turkey Day while sitting in the silence of my place as everyone was out of town, I got an urge to workout. It would have to happen in our place with tunes over my home theater system. I pulled out the dumbbells and started doing all the workouts I could think of with them and my own body weight. After about 30 minutes, I was dripping in sweat. From sit-ups holding the weight to holding the dumbbells arms outstretched to leg lifts it is actually easy to work out without a gym.
