Using Calipers for Measuring Benefits of Workouts Makes Sense |

I decided to get these body fat calipers for our family for Christmas this year. We enjoy our workouts, and I thought that if we got the calipers, it would show our progress on weight loss. The scales are not entirely accurate when in the process of getting fit. Muscle weighs a lot more than fat, and our workouts are designed to put on muscle. A trainer I had in the past emphasized the importance of using calipers or other ways to measure body fat besides the bathroom scale.
We enjoy our workouts, especially the hiking and bicycling ones. We try to get out to the desert once a week to go on a long ride on our mountain bikes and those are really good workouts for our bodies and our minds. We come back home just exhilarated, especially when we spot wildlife or some beautiful flowers or plants. During the week we go for brisk walks for our workouts and find that it really helps us with our weight loss. Once we start using this, we'll have a much more accurate measure of how our weight loss programs are going, and how much muscle we are gaining.
