Maybe it is just me but the number of people who are using fitness equipment for weight loss is huge and this is great but not everyone has the proper training or knowledge to use some of the more modern fitness equipment you find in a gym. But I know of one simple piece of fitness equipment everyone can use, even those who have never exercised a day in their life. It is a pedometer. This very simple and inexpensive piece of fitness equipment clips onto your belt, pocket and some are worn around the ankle. What a pedometer does is count the number of steps you take during a hike, walk, or just going about your daily activities. this total number of steps is then calculated according to the information you enter as to how far your typical stride is and translates this into how many miles you walk during a given time frame. Normally this is measured for a 24 hour period or to see how how far you walked at work. I have worn one before and was very surprised at just how many miles I was walking in a typical day at work. the thing about the pedometer as a piece of fitness equipment is you may find you are walking a lot less than you might think and this can spur you on to make it a point to walk more each day.
