First Workout In Three Years |

Workout
Right after I herniated a disc in my back, I put away my workout gear and decided to stop training with weights. It was really fear that kept me from going back to the gym. It's been three years since then, and two days ago, I walked into the gym for the first time. It felt pretty good to be back where I use to spend so much time. The first thing that hit me was how fitness equipment had changed in just a few years.
There was a lot more machines, and all in one type fitness equipment. There was still some free weights, but they were pushed off into the corner while the machines and "in" type fitness equipment was placed in the middle. I have always been a free weight kind of guy, so that's where I headed. I figured since I use to train pretty heavy then I could start out that way. I was wrong. My strength had diminished somewhat, but I still tried to lift as heavy as I could. Today I can barely move. In fact, I scream in my mind whenever I move my arms. The good thing is, I'm still excited about going back. I just might have to take another day off and not go quite so heavy.
