Workout
My older son started his freshman year at the local university and has found a great bonus: he gets to workout at the student wellness center. He can go over there in between classes when he has a long break or after an early class on the days he has short days.
His enthusiasm is contagious and I have decided to partner up with my friend and we are going to start doing a workout three times a week. We have busy schedules but we think that it a good start. I have been groaning about gaining a little weight since I switched to writing full time and this workout plan will be a great way to fend off those fears.
My son told me he enjoys being able to workout at the campus gym because he runs into some of his classmates that way and is getting to know more people. Being a little older than some of the students he was a little nervous at first but he is finding quite a few to be his age. He went to school after a four year enlistment so that brought his freshman age forward a bit. Still, when he describes his campus adventures, he is like that little boy that started kindergarten all those years ago.
