workout

My mom has high cholesterol and has had it for well over 20 years. She had been on medication for it for years but earlier this year her doctor wanted to try to take her off of it. So she was told to eat better and workout, walk for 30 minutes a day. Since this is something she's lived with for at least 20 years, she's been pretty good about what she eats. So have I actually, but unlike her, my workouts have fallen by the way side. At least for me I have a legitimate reason why I stopped; I tripped over my mom's purse one day and nearly broke my toe. It was sore for weeks, and still is a little if I bend it back just enough and that just enough would be while doing my belly dancing. But I really do need to get back into my workout routine.

My mom though, has been doing well with her workout; she gets to work early, puts the coffee pot on and then goes outside and walks around the building for a half hour. She'll even go walk in the park behind our house after work for an extra workout. This is in addition to all the gardening she does in front of the house, when she gets home from work. All this walking has paid off, she got a call from her doctor's office the other day a follow up to the check up she had last week where they checked her cholesterol levels. Her doctor was shocked that her cholesterol was normal! So you see, a good workout, as simple as a 30-minute walk every day, can pay off in a big way in lowering cholesterol.
