Something new our family learned about a good workout is that it keeps our brains humming along. From what we read, it seems that during and after a good workout, the body begins to produce hormones and chemicals that increase cognitive functioning. We even did a little home test just to see what truth there was to this workout tip and we liked the results. We all sat together to play a nice game of scrabble before partaking in a workout and then we sat back down for another game of scrabble right after the workout. Personally after the moderate workout we did, I felt like someone had introduced a bit of mental kerosene into my body and it reflected on my second go around of scrabble. In fact, the game ended a lot faster than the first time and people were coming up with much more complicated words. Personally, I think that since the workout left each one of us feeling a lot happier the emotional boost made everyone able to reach deeper into their mental faculties. The lesson for us was that whenever we need to summon the Einstein within us we just need to take our fitness equipment out for a nice workout date.
