Getting Ready to Workout |
| 1/18/2010 6:03:48 AM |

Getting ready for a workout is as much a physical endeavor as mental one. How any times have you said I need to begin a workout program? That's the easy part, realizing it, thinking it and even verbalizing it. The challenging part is making the workout a reality.
I have found a way to make it fun, really! Start by finding some comfortable workout clothes. Try them on before buying and make sure that you feel good in the gear. Get a good pair of aerobic shoes. There are so many choices it might not be a bad idea to ask for assistance. I always try them on, walk around in them and make sure there is good support and room for the toes to wiggle. The worst thing is to start a workout program and come home with blisters only to delay the process further.
Next, I would choose the form of workout, whether it is walking down the block or visiting the local gym. I have found that once the engine is started by faithfully taking that morning walk or attending a couple weeks of classes that there is no stopping or turning back. The workout may even become a priority, really! |
