workout, weight lossYesterday was the PF Chang Marathon in Phoenix, and my sister was a proud participant of it. Some of my family members went to watch her come in at the finish line and we had a little party for her afterward. We had the best time at the party and praised her for all her workouts that made it possible for her to run in that marathon. She was also exhilarated, as she should have been, because it was a year or workouts that prepared her for that kind of distance.

She completely changed her diet a couple of years ago after learning that too many carbs and not enough protein in her diet were making it hard for her to build muscle which she needed to do to be able to do a marathon. Not being crazy about meat, she turned to protein bars like these Worldwide Pure Protein Bars that she bought by the case. She says they're really good and after seeing how she has used workouts and these protein bars to get fit, I'm thinking I ought to do the same.

I like protein from meat more than she does, but these bars would have less fat and cholesterol than most meat and more than likely, fewer calories. I could stand to lose a few pounds and could certainly be more physically fit than I am, so I might consider ordering these to start a weight loss program and strengthen my muscles. She gets hers from Zuppa's Store located at www.healthytudes.com. I looked them up and they are a great value. They also have chocolate in them which would make them really delicious. She would have given me a taste of them but had eaten all she brought with her for the race.

I'd love to be able to workout like that and be able to run in a 5K in six months and maybe a 10K in a year, and then start training for a marathon once I've passed those hurdles. My sister says that she feels so good after her workouts and yesterday, she was tired but her attitude was extraordinary. She was in the best mood afterward, both from comfortably meeting her goal of a run that long, and all the endorphins that the run created. That's a major benefit of exercise and workouts in her book, and I could certainly stand a few more endorphins, myself. And I'd love to have all those race bibs and take aways that she has that give her a sense of pride and accomplishment whenever she looks at them. She says she's never had a bad time on a race, and I'd like to accomplish more myself, so I think I'll order some of these protein bars and start my workout program this week.
